Holzapfel Preserve is adjacent the Greenville High School and can be access by Meadow Lane and a small parking area. The preserve is the result of the many years of local resident Elaine Holzapfel who worked to plant her own native arboretum. Darke County Parks acquired this preserve in 2019 with the intent to work with the nearby school in providing a land lab option for the science clubs.
A small preserve, makes up for its lack of trail distance with tree species density. Darke County Parks hopes to manage and work to grow the biodiversity on this small in-town plot.
